Elegy for a DS, more Work-Study News, Birthday Mentionings...

Posted by Clovis15 - February 8th, 2010

Well, my DS that I've had since February of 2005 has finally decided to recieve a mortal wound. The right hinge is busted out completely; while it still turns on and all that good stuff, it can only go down hill from here. With all the essential wires to the upper monitor being in the left hinge, this increased ability to move around in wrong ways will insure that it's only a matter of time before it all comes to a very bitter end. Oh well, it's been a full five years of faithful service at this point... and besides, I was looking for a good excuse to justify to myself the purchase of a DS-Lite for quite some time now. Well, my DS, this Code Red's for you... *pour*

Special thanks to Laserkid forced me to take this DS as a gift when I, still angry with the GBC and GBA, was completely refusing to even look at Nintendo's fourth era of handhelds. Otherwise, I would never have discovered the likes of Professor Layton, Phoenix Wright, or the Elite Beat Agents! Now wouldn't that have been a shame for Work-Study?

Anyways, speaking of Work-Study, our newest page is the beginning of a rather lengthy story arc (at least by the standards of Work-Study) that I've been promising for a long time now... I hope you all enjoy it as much as I've been looking forward to it happen.

On a lesser note, I'll be turning 28 on the 27th of this month... friggin' wheeeeee! Oh well, at least if I buy myself a DS-Lite then I can say I got SOMETHING for my birthay.

same thing happend to me with ds. screen cracked and it jsut started messign with me. then i got ds lite. and a dsi. thank you family love

Phoenix Wright....

That guy is always Wright

That's definitely something no one can shout an OBJECTION to.

If you don't take your DS out very often, and just use it for playing on the Sofa or something, you should defintely consider getting one of the Large Edition DSi's, the screens are fantastic.

Unfortunately, the DSi does not support GBA games. There are still GBA games that I have, but haven't gotten to yet. Yes, I know that's a bit shameful; still, that's the way it is.

May your DS rest in peace when it finaly closes it's eyes to sleep for eternity.
By the way, you're not the only one with 'DS problems' ! My DS's touch screen is almost busted. When I try to draw it will only draw half of the screen even if I move the stylus through the whole touch screen ! At least still I have my trustworthy 'DSi' and 'Playstation Portable' ! I also have amazing games on both consoles.

Here's my top 5 DSi games that I own:

1.''THE LEGEND OF ZELDA:Phantom Hourglass''
2.''SONIC RUSH:Adventure''
3.''Mario Party DS ''
4.''Metroid Prime:Hunters ''
5.''STARFOX:Comand ''

Here's my top 5 PSP games that I own:

1.''STREET FIGHTER Alpha 3-MAX ''
2.''METAL GEAR SOLD:Portable Ops''
3.''DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY''
4.''SONIC RIVALS 2''
5.''God Of War:Chains of Olympus''

I DO know that you really don't care about what games I own (or what consoles) but maybe when I manage to conect online on these portable consoles we might be able to play together.I'm curently online on 'Playstation Network'.Send a friend request letter on ''JOHNARASDi''(that's me) if you ever feel like it.Bye for now !

PS:It must have been really fun playing those games.I think Phoenix Wright was really enjoyable.Again I feel sorry for your loss !

The exact same thing happened to me today! except instead of five years, mine lasted nine years, And instead of a broken hinge... mine has a tumor in it's esophagus. and instead of a DS... it's my dog. SAD. FACE. When his quality of life worsens severely we have to make the choice to put him down to prevent suffering. Promise me you won't make your DS suffer before it's death. treat it with love because it won't be around for much longer.

I am deeply sorry to hear about your dog, you have my condolensces.

i know that kind of problems can happen with every console thats why i just use emulators on my pc
